During this guided walking tour, we will use acoustic technology to detect bat echolocation calls as they emerge at dusk to forage for insects. You will learn a little bit about how the technology works, which species of bats are native to this area other than the famous Freetail, and about the diet, habitat, and threats facing bats throughout the state and around the U.S. The tour will meet approximately at sunset and last an hour to an hour and a half. Note: Warbler Woods is a gated property. You will receive a digital ticket after your purchase, along with instructions for the night of the event. The gate will be open only for a limited period before the event, so be sure to read the instructions you will be provided with. We recommend that you dress to prevent bug bites, wear comfortable closed toe shoes, and bring a camping chair.
